The answer is within you

I’ve been doing a lot of spiritual work lately. And it’s been giving me some insights about myself and life that I was previously unaware of.

Now don’t think, ‘Oh my God, she’s found religion’ because it’s not that. But if that’s your thing then I say go for it.

No, my realisations have been more about the fact we often hide what we really want or feel from ourselves. My realisations have been about listening to my inner voice and trusting it.

So many of us have dreams that we want to pursue.  We might know that deep down we want to leave our job and retrain to be a teacher. Or we want to start that market stall and sell candles.

Or we really want to go to university or TAFE to learn something, anything, so that our brains will once again tick over and we can remind ourselves there is always something new to learn.

But sadly most of us, most of the time, will talk ourselves out of doing these things. We will choose not to listen to our inner voice and instead we will drown it with what we think we should do, or where we should go or what we should say.

Put simply, we just don’t listen to our own inner wisdom at all because it’s too scary.

That’s right. It’s scary.

Because most of us are so used to living within the limits we, others and society have set for ourselves that we forget we have a choice.

We can choose to live in an unhappy relationship, an awful job or whatever it is, and we will be unfulfilled.

And we’ll tell ourselves that it is better to preserve that status quo because there is no risk. You cannot lose something if you do not move or change. Even if our current something is complete crap we will kid ourselves that it is better to know and deal with that crap than risk the unknown and the potential of something else that could be amazingly wonderful.

But imagine what could happen if you took that step and trusted your inner voice. What would happen if you tried and made your dream a reality?

What would happen if you truly accepted yourself and knew that you were worthy?

What would happen if you believed in yourself enough to unlock the chains around your feet and ankles? Imagine that moment of being free and then that feeling of flight into your true potential.

It would be amazing, wouldn’t it.

And the only thing you must to do to get there, is listen to your inner voice and follow its call.

It is that simple.

Your answer is within you.
